I have loved the nail industry since I was little. I used to make my own press-ons using school glue and a ruler. As a teen, I discovered acrylic, french tips. I fell in love with the colors, the airbrush designs, and the longer, the better! Over the years, I endured many painful trips to the salon. My skin would be cut, nails would be red and sore for days, my nails would be super thin and bendy. If that wasn't bad enough, the fumes gave me terrible headaches. I thought all of that was normal and part of having long nails. There had to be something better. I needed something different.
After my kids got a little bit older, I was able to take some time and go back to school. Now, as a licensed and certified Nail Technician, I have learned so much of what shouldn't be normalized. For one, your manicure should never hurt! Those red lines are damaged nail beds caused from over filing, and that burning sensation is typically caused from too much product curing too quickly, or an allergy/sensitivity to the products being used. It's also possible that your nails are damaged from enhancements (including polish) that gets ripped off, either from your tech, or self-inflicted. Hey, we've all done it, including myself. That little piece gets caught in your hair or clothes and bam! Off she goes. What your left with is thin nails that are peeling.
Disposable products should never be re-used. I can't tell you how many times I watched someone re-use a file and not think twice about it! IYKYK! All tools should be sanitized and disinfected for each client! I go one step further and sterilize anything that can withstand the heat! It's scary to think that not all places wash their tools properly or even know how to.
I am committed to giving you the best experience but without soreness, headaches, and allergies, using quality products without the added toxins. Let's be honest, nothing is completely free of chemicals but know that here, you have safer options! Your nail health is my top priority so I wouldn't use anything that I wouldn't use on myself. If you have any questions, feel free to message me. Thank you for stopping by and I look forward to seeing you and your nails! <3 Suzan
